This past January, we gathered in one service at Mariner High School to celebrate the lives God has changed and impacted in our first ten years of existence. It has been a very exciting journey! I believe what we have experienced so far is just a glimpse of what God wants to do in our community. At our 10th Anniversary, we also shared that the biggest mountains are yet to be climbed. One of those mountains is an expansion project to create more space to reach more people who need Jesus. This is by far the biggest challenge we have taken in our history… but I know it is not too big for God. Since our beginning, God has been helping us continue to climb higher… growing as a portable church to our first permanent location, to three worship services, and then four over two days. God has continually proven that He is faithful as He leads us. Over the past two years, we have seen our weekly attendance grow from an average of 490 to over 650. There is no doubt we have outgrown our current facility in children’s ministry, student ministry, worship space and even offices for our staff team. If we want to continue to reach people, we must create more space. So, in early 2017, we will break ground on a new 18,000 square foot building that will give us new worship space, a large lobby, and space for children’s ministry. Our current building will become offices and student ministry space. We will also have additional space for our Life Groups.
In January, we will begin a campaign called 10,000 Reasons, to allow us to raise the capital resources we will need to build this new facility right here on our current campus. We chose this name because there are more than 10,000 people who live within 1.5 miles of our campus, and we know that many of them need Jesus. I am so excited about this new space and the opportunity it will give us to live out our vision of changed lives. I am confident 10,000 Reasons will enable God’s church to be expanded well beyond our biggest dreams. Each commitment to the 10,000 Reasons campaign will be an investment in our mission to connect people to Christ and community.
With Great Anticipation,
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations…
